Holding down trigger makes wire slightly warm.

Laboriously take apart.

Laboriously put back together.

Hold down trigger.

Wait for wire to warm up.

Glance at wire.

Double take at GLOWING RED HOT WIRE 😱😱😱

(I guess I fixed it!)
